Things are all about the same from one day to the next. And that just makes for boring writing and even more boring reading. Basically, I have not been inspired to post anything.
Just like these poker chips showing up at the base of the driveway one day, this message appears before you.
The routine is fairly predictable... wake; eat; shower; walk the dog; mount up to go to the office; fix other people's problems all day long; work too long; mount up to go home; eat; watch something meaningless; and back to bed.
Weekends with errands; some little house projects; laundry and soccer.
I'm sure if I were someone important, the paparazzi would figure out my schedule very quickly. Even with the occasional minor change, a dinner out here and there.
Amongst the mediocrity, a couple non-routine happenings:- I have almost reached my goal for losing weight. I used to hover around 205 and 210 pounds. Now, I'm almost to the 185 goal.
- I know it is a bit counter-intuitive, but a sample of Berger's Cookies is on the way west. These are yummy! Everything in moderation. I haven't had any in a long, long time. Thanks to Duff ("Ace of Cakes") for reminding me of these delectable treats from Baltimore, MD. (Now, if I could get some hush-puppies from Calabash, NC.)
- Some time soon, I, yeah me, will have a family visitor. My aunt, (the fun one) is passing through town on her travels. Why is this exceptional? This the first visit of anyone in my family since moving west. And even before that. You see, family is not my strong suit. And apparently, over the course of time, I have not been a pull for them either.
- On the new car front. It's spring time and I'm getting around on the motorbike just fine. I'm not in any rush to adopt a new payment. For those that are wondering; although the Mini is cute and probably fun. It's expensive. The VW GTI or TDI are looking like the more pragmatic solution.
